Le Grand Pique-Nique Update — New Date, New Venue, Same Spirit
Sent March 1, 2026
Dear LPFI Family,
We have an update on Le Grand Pique-Nique, and we think you are going to love it.
After some logistical changes on our end, we have made the decision to move this year’s event to a new location and date. We are thrilled to announce that Le Grand Pique-Nique 2026 will be held at the West Baton Rouge Museum in Port Allen on Sunday, April 19, from 10 AM to 2 PM.
If you have attended LGPN in past years, you already know how special WBR Museum is as a venue. We are looking forward to bringing the event back there with a great team of organizers and all the things you love about le Pique-Nique: food, music, community, and a celebration of French language and culture in Louisiana.
Mark your calendars. More details to come soon.

Opportunity: Host Luc Tardif / Université de Sainte-Anne (March 15-29)
Sent March 9, 2026
I wanted to share a quick opportunity that just landed in my inbox.
Luc Tardif from the Université de Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia will be traveling through Louisiana from March 15-29. He’ll be visiting New Orleans, Thibodaux, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles, and he’s open to presentations, school visits, or informal conversations with anyone interested in learning more about the program.
If you don’t know Sainte-Anne, it is one of the premier French-language universities in North America and home to an outstanding summer French immersion program for high school and college students. Dozens of Louisianans have gone through the program over the years, and it is a natural next step for our immersion graduates who want to keep building their French in an immersive, francophone environment.
Learn more at www.usainteanne.ca.
If you know a teacher, a school, or a parent group that might welcome a visit, please reach out to me and I’ll connect you with Luc directly. The window is short, so don’t wait!
