For more than fifty years the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana has led the way in safe guarding our cultural heritage. As parents, we chose French immersion to give our children access and knowledge of the language of our grandparents. Instead of shame, we teach pride and now we need to step to the plate and fight for our kids in every arena of Louisiana educational reform: political, economic, and cultural. The powers that be do not listen to children, to the elderly or to teachers- parents have the true power and we are banding together on behalf of our future.
